Did you know…

Over the last two generations navigating our very complicated healthcare system has become increasingly difficult and expensive. Many people find themselves falling into the cracks within the healthcare system. We call these GAP patients. The one thing in healthcare that has remained constant is the 911 system. Everyone knows when you call 911 an ambulance will come, provide treatment and transport you to the hospital regardless of your ability to pay or degree of illness. These GAP patients have forced our organization to find creative approaches like the PACT program to reduce the overload on our very limited resources. By safely navigating these patient populations to the most appropriate destination we can improve outcomes and reduce systemic costs. Currently our service is only compensated to transport patients to emergency rooms by ambulances. This means that insurance companies and the federal government only compensate the 911 system for utilizing the most expensive form of transport to the highest level of care while simoltainuesly demanding that we reduce the cost of providing care.
